Video Quality |
Video quality is fine. Re: your thoughts about giving the next generation flip cameras a try - I don't think HD is necessary for our purposes (talking heads with a few contextual shots) & it could slow down playback due to greater amount of data to be buffered etc. |

Audio Quality |
I agree with your original observation - the audio is not good enough. Although headphones or speakers solve the problem, it is not a very satisfactory stance to take, as it will lose us those people without either (quite a lot in the VCS from initial experiences with CCB on webinars) or can't be bothered with a video clip unless it plays through inbuilt speakers |

Lessons Learnt Comment from TW: Use an external microphone if possible. I agree with this suggestion. |
Purchase an external microphone and test audio quality in normal interview situation. |

Screen Text |
The use of a basic text screen to introduce people, topics and questions would improve the appearance and flow of the 10 minute video. |

Interview Technique |
Lessons Learnt Comment from TW: Leave longer pauses between the question
being asked and answering it as this makes editing easier. It is common to have the audio phasing in at the start of a sequence and the image comes in after a few words. This is often preceded by a simple text screen acting as a Title screen or blue/black screen just to denote a change in topic being discussed. If we were using a standard media editor, then we would have normal tools & therefore techniques at our disposal. |

Editing |
Lessons Learnt Comment from TW: Allow sufficient time to edit. In all
this took me 5 hours.
Pause between questions and add a chapter mark, if the camera has this feature, as it will save editing time later. |
