Slough and Eton Adult and Community Learning Centre has been awarded a smarter government grant of £6,000 to help us increase the number of local people we are able to support in getting started with using the internet. We are planning to use the funding for improved signage on the school gate and for more staff time to increase the number of one-to-one appointments on offer. We will use our excellent links with local schools and voluntary groups to promote our UK online centre activities. Individuals will be helped to register on the ‘my guide’ website by appointment with one of our trained staff or can enrol on short courses in keyboard and mouse skills and getting started with email and the internet. As one of our target groups is mothers with young children we offer crèche places alongside some of the daytime computer classes. For more information please contact 01753 486 047.
