Manor Park and Baylis Learning Spoke
Some Background
The Manor Park area has a growing, multi ethnic population, which includes BME and Polish communities and NEET groups. This is having a significant impact on employment, education and skills and anti- social behaviour.
The purpose of the project is to establish a strong collaborative working relationship between the Manor Park and Baylis multi agency group, learning and IAG providers, community organisations and local people to:
- understand the needs, isolation and concerns of the divergent population
- establish and promote ‘learning’ opportunities that are relevant, bring people together, improve morale and confidence and build a sense of community.
- explore ways in which organisations could align their funding and resources to create new opportunities that address the needs of local people and build strong partnerships
- strengthen and expand current activities.
Foundation Activities
A series of three facilitated workshops that will bring together all the partners and enable them to share their expertise and their extensive knowledge of the communities in which they work or live to:
- understand needs
- explore possible solutions
- generate ideas on how the partnership should be working to create effective community engagement
- reach a common understanding of priorities and identify their role in achieving these priorities
- agree how to work together to establish effective working practices that meet community needs
