The Drop-in service provides information, advice and support to asylum seekers and refugees. The service maintains strong links and works with other voluntary and statutory bodies to ensure clients enjoy their rights and entitlements to the maximum. The Drop-in Co-ordinator, Casework Co-ordinator and a strong team of volunteers assist and support clients in dealing with a variety of issues such as:
* immigration (Level 1)
* benefits
* asylum support
* education
* health
* housing and utilities.
SRS offers four Drop-in sessions per week from Tuesday to Friday, 10.00 am – 12.00 noon.
Slough Refugee Support was founded in 1997 when a group of volunteers recognised the need for specific support for those newly arriving in the area, fleeing persecution in their home countries. The organisation has since grown significantly and offers its services to refugee and asylum seekers from 36 countries. Each year we receive about 2070 visits with an average of 10 clients per drop-in session.
