The Slough Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) is a partnership combining representatives from local authorities (education, social services, health, probation, prison service and the voluntary sector). Working with our partner organisations, we commission and monitor locally provided drug and alcohol services, and raise awareness about drug and alcohol issues in Slough. We promote our work through effective communication such as this website, our newsletter, and various promotional events.
We will deliver support to all partner agencies involved in the delivery of the four key areas of the National Drug Strategy which you can see here: Drugs: Protecting families and communities 2008. The four keys areas are:
COMMUNITY: Protecting communities through robust enforcement to tackle drug supply, drug-related crime and anti-social behaviour
YOUNG PEOPLE & FAMILIES: Preventing harm to children, young people and families affected by drug misuse
NEW APPROACHES: Delivering new approaches to drug treatment and social integration
INFORMING THE PUBLIC: Public information campaigns, communications and community engagement
